Hi, I’m Denver. I
came to Husky Haven last September and spent my
first few months at Pat’s. I was probably
18 months old at the time. I made such a
good impression that she convinced someone to
take me in as a house foster so I’d have a
better chance at finding a forever home.
I’ve been in the new foster home since February
2011 & am simply a really good sweet dog.
The dog door and stairs were a little scary, but
I quickly figured them out. I’m crate &
house trained, walk well on a leash, and take
baths nicely. Initially, any verbal
correction made me cower, but now I realize that
they’re simply telling me the rules, so I follow
them. My foster siblings are a little
older, and aren’t always interested in playing,
but Mom says I’m good at understanding when to
leave them alone. I’m interested in
snuggling, playing, walking, and running.
Belly rubs and kisses are my specialty.
Give Husky Haven a shout if you would like to
meet me. At the very least, my enthusiasm
for meeting new people will make you smile.

Winter is a great dog . He
is house trained and walks well on a leash .
He thinks he is a couch dog but we are
trying to change that. When we are sitting
down he comes and lays on our feet . I'm not
sure if he does that to keep our feet warm
or to prevent us from getting up and moving
away from him . If you stop petting him you
get a strong scratch on your leg from him to
let you know he is still there . He gives
kisses all the time and often wakes my
daughter up by a few licks across her arm or
face . All in all he is a great dog . He
will never be a guard dog because he loves
everyone that stops by . He might lick them
to death but that would be it . He also gets
along with almost all dogs . |

As for his personality, he's Exuberant
Puppyhood Personified. He does everything
with innocent exuberance. Everything is a
mystery that must be sniffed out, pounced
upon, gnawed at, and run with. Whether it's
a blade of grass or a battered old shoe or
an alligator at Brazos Bend Park. Life is
great, and it must be pursued to the limit.
When he first came here, he was afraid of
our long walks. Now he brings me the leash.
He's also a great watch puppy: he's friendly
but wary of strangers, and he has a pretty
loud bark for a small 5 months old puppy.
He's pretty content with playing with his
mountainous amount of toys, but of course,
he loves it best if you get involved and
toss things for him to fetch. But the best
thing about Ozzy is, at the end of a day
full of pouncing, running, falling,
slipping, chewing, fetching and tugging, he
asks to come up to your lap and sleep in
your arms. |
