Once I get to know you, I am VERY loving, but will try to get away at first. When I get scared, I will dart to my safe spot (crate) and stay there. With a little sweet talk, I will come back out. I was starving when HH found me but I NEVER snatched my food. I am very gentle when taking treats. I am good with other dogs, even the pesky miniature Dachshund! I love to steal her tiny squeaky toy and make noise with it. As for the old grumpy Border collie, I just ignore him when he snarls at me. My foster mom likes to trick me. If I will not come to her, she will start loving on another of the dogs until I just can’t stand it and have to go get my scratches also. I love to be petted and brushed. In the beginning I was absolutely terrified of water, but I am getting used to it now. I will cower in the corner of the shower. My other foster mom thought I might have been punished with water. All I want is a home where I can get love as often as possible!! More pics |

You gotta figure we generally have the same amount fur that a short-coated Sibe would, ours is just a wee bit longer and maybe a bit thicker undercoat. Makes me more huggable, if you ask me. I am on the small side as far as my weight is concerned. I am a sweet, sweet girl and take to a crate no problem. Husky Haven thinks I'm probably house trained already. I have a calm personality and would do just great inside a new home. |

NOTES: Woooroooo....Wooorooo is what I like to say. I am a sweet boy that will talk to you. I have been searching for a forever home through Husky Haven and I do hope that I find a good home soon. Did I tell you how sweet I am? Cause I really am! I love to play with other dogs and I do love to play chase! My wish for a forever home is a place I can run, play and just be with my 2 leggers. I would be great for someone who is active and even who has other dogs. I would love to go for long walks, maybe even a run or two. We could even just sit in that great thing they call air conditioning this summer and chill out. If you think you would be a great match for me I would love to hear from you. NOTES: Hi, I'm Hokee. That means abandoned in Navajo. I was found tied to a Mobile Home around Thanksgiving by our Shelter in San Angelo. They called my new Foster Dad who pick me up and has been taking care of me since. I am neutered, micro-chipped, fully vetted and HW free. All ready to go! My Foster parents have 3 other Huskys and 2 Mals. These are all also rescues. Besides that, we have 22 horses, 2 Goldens, a Poodle, 2 Chihua's, 2 large cats, and a wired haired rescue Mutt. Lots of friends to play with and I do my best. I really love all of them and I have never growled. Pretty good for all the activity around here. I go to feed the horses with my Foster Dad every day and I haven't met anyone I don't like. I haven't spent alot of time with the cats, but I haven't attacked them when they are around. I want to play and check them out. I am about a year old and have lots of love to give. My Foster Parents say I can stay here forever, but if I can find a good home, they will have the room to help the other guys and gals that need their help. I can be transported anywhere, any time. . NOTES: I am a gorgeous boy that was rescued with a broken leg. It is all healed and I have a new home! More Pics Update from Mickey's Mom: Mickey is settling in nicely to his new environment. He is just the sweetest fellow and the boys and I are just hopelessly, besotted in love. He's so friendly and curious about everything - he'll follow us around the house and especially to the refrigerator - I think he likes that rush of cool air. He's just a big teddy bear. Even my husband, Jonty, has fallen hard for him. There's still a bit of jockeying for position going on between Storm, Darbi and Mickey but they're all getting along great. All three live for their nightly walk. I made the mistake of trying to take all three out on my own last night and quickly came to the realization that while one person may be able to handle both Storm and Darbi at at the same time, Mickey cannot be teamed up - he's just too strong. I had to put Storm and Darbi back in the house and wait for my kids to get home to join me on my walk. Mickey's just so exuberant. He settles down quickly, probably in less than a minute, but he's pulling hard out the door and down the walk to start with. He loves that walk! Anyway, I know you love that big boy and probably have been wondering how he's doing. We couldn't be happier with him! |

to our home and take some photos of my daughter,
Erin and her absolutely stunningly beautiful
husky, Teddy (aka Lucca). We were amazed
that his fur came in chocolate! As you can
see he is an amazing animal with more love than
he can handle on most days, as he is the love of
Erin’s life! He now weighs 59 lbs. and is
in perfect health. She exercises him twice
daily and he loves it. He has fit in
wonderfully with the other four dogs and is
especially respectful of the female pom—when she
speaks, he really listens and they are adorable
together. Every time she takes Teddy
anywhere, people remark on how gorgeous he is
and they are right, he is absolutely stunning.
Thought you might enjoy seeing how far he has
come as it is truly remarkable what love can do.

I’m almost potty trained and I am crate trained. I’m a husky mix and I do have a lot of the husky traits, such as, I’m stubborn, I sing at the top of my lungs whenever I get a chance, oh yeah…I LOVE to run. I am learning to walk on a leash real well but still need some work. Other good things to know about me…I will sit by your side and lay in bed with you. I like to be with people and other dogs the best. |

I was tied to a bathtub and made to have babies, I lost the tips of my ears from the flies and I was not well. Now with groceries and love I am a beautiful girl with a lot of energy and ready for a forever family. I am learning my basic commands and my puppy manners. I am in search of a wonderful home that will help me to continue to learn and that will love me the way I will love and adore you. I get along well with other dogs and love to play with them too. NOTES: I am a well mannered boy that gets along with other dogs (including small ones). No cats for me though! I am very sweet and love to be petted on. Did you know I even talk? Just talk to me and I will talk right back, heck half the time you don't even have to talk to me and I will still talk to you! I like to play and can be very rambunctious. I was picked up by a trucker running down the street with a big wound on my back. He took me to the humane society and they called Husky Haven who came to get me and took me to the vet. It was pretty nasty and the vet said he couldn't touch the bottom of it (yuck) and that it may have been caused by an arrow or something else long and sharp since it was so deep. I tried to tell them what happened but all that come out was my normal WOOOwoooroooo and they didn't seem to understand. I got all stitched up and had to heal for a couple of months. Now my hair is growing back where they shaved it and soon it will be beautiful again and you would never know the difference. I am a very happy healthy dog! I am already fully vetted so please fill out an application and let me come live with you where no one will ever hurt me again! More Pics

Hi, there! I'm Tonka. My foster mom calls me
her Tonka Toy.I
am a gorgeous grey and white boy, about a year
old, but I already have spectacles (as you can see if you look
carefully) around my eyes. They are
really markings, and rather different. I have
one blue eye and one eye
that is mostly brown, but has a little blue. I
weigh about 50 pounds but I
need to gain a little weight. I am very
energetic and very friendly,
both with dogs and people (which is great for
the dog parks). My tail is
beautiful! I am not a digger, or a jumper
(except on people). I am crate
and house trained, and I learn very quickly, if
I do say so myself. I
respond promptly to "No" and "Anh".
Warning, I am a counter-cruiser and
standing on my hind legs, I am quite tall.
Since I am so energetic,
someone who is strong, or has handled huskies
before needs to take the
leash. I'm learning to be good on it.

NOTES: I am Nanuq, a Velcro Siberian Husky, meaning that I am not your typical sibe..I actually LOVE all people and want to be attached to your hip, lounge around in your lap, or cuddle by your feet all day! I am past the puppy stage and am closer to 5-7years of age and around 60 lbs.. I don't bark, I'm easy to walk, AND I sit/lay nicely for a bath and grooming..3 for one deal! Oh I also am 100% house-trained and I have never had an accident or destroyed anything in the house..I can be trusted alone outside of a crate(though I am crate-trained). I really love water and plopping down in it after a long walk so if you have a kiddie pool or a big pool that would be such a treat, it really cools me off! Car rides are so much fun! I love being in cars and I behave nicely in them. As much as I do love people, I really don't like other dogs stealing all my people time so I will need to be the only dog in your household. I also co-exist peacefully with 2 cats and I will ignore them at your request." |

head the other way, smile, breathe a little
louder and scoot closer to you so you can hear
my barely audible whimper.
Sometimes I add a cute, polite snort and
wag my tail twice, but only twice.
If I have to be drastic, I will stand up,
sit down, lie down, sit back up, turn around and
go back to the tilted head look with a smile and
a polite snort.
By the time I get through with all of my
adorableness, I usually get my way.
I have come a long way in life knowing
how to work it; I don’t intend to stop anytime
soon.
Sure, I get along with other dogs.

I am housebroken using a doggy door, I
take treats gently from your hand, I know how to

on top of you at night so I can occasionally

I think cats and squirrels are cool, but
I don’t get all hyper over them like other
Siberians.
I would rather be telling my human where
to pet me so I can get all in to it and stuff;
you know….close my eyes halfway….bring the ears
down to half mast……and turn upside down for the
ultimate belly rub.
I don’t howl, I don’t talk and I don’t
sing – I bark.

NOTES: How is it going? I am so glad you decided to stop and read about me. When I came to Husky Haven, I was skinny and had not been a happy girl. Since I have been here at Husky Haven I have gained some weight and changed so much that the volunteers that come out where so surprised to see how much I changed. One 2 legged Girl said that I am absolutely gorgeous. You know I have never heard that before! I am a really sweet girl that loves to play with other dogs and even though I am a little shy, it doesn’t take long before I warm up to you and will be by your side. My Husky Haven Mom says that I ride really well in the car, and when I was not well she would take for a ride around the neighborhood so I could get enjoy myself. I am really good with kids and love to get belly rubs. I am laid back and really a mellow kind of girl. I would make a great addition to any family and would love to have a family of my very own. (1) (2) Updates on Cedar from his Foster Mom: "Cedar has been working hard on his commands and is now sitting with the 'sit' command, stays and looks at me before he can eat. He is learning the down command and is doing very well with it so far. He also has learned 'twirl' and seems to like that one a lot. He has picked up on his commands very well and learns quickly. "We are working on turns and heel and though he is trying hard to understand the concept, he does well with it. His leash walking is without pulling and does well loose leash. He had a play date at a friend of mine who owns 2 Cats and 5 Labs. He played well with them all and though he was excited at first with the Cats he was actually very good with them.;"

sister) and him play all day, all the time and
she does enjoy telling on him when he is not
behaving. He tugs with rawhides and toys with
Phoenix and loves to initiate the play by
pouncing on her when she is napping. He is
really a sweet boy and too funny. |

NOTES: Update: Dancer had to have knee surgery and has a 6 week recovery time. My foster home says: He is doing just great, we went to the dog park Sunday and he had a ball and no aggression. At home we went for a walk last night and he is great on lead. He has discovered the bed and slept on my chest for awhile last night before he got too hot. This morning he hopped up and crashed for a belly rub, gives lot’s of kisses. He is also VERY smart. He only watched one pup use the doggie door and he had it down. Thus he holds the record. He may have used one before. He has integrated well with the pack and there has been no positioning at all. We are amazed that he would be on the loose…oh well More Pics... He is about 1 year old and was originally with Husky Haven as a puppy. He was adopted but his new owners decided not to keep him after over 6 months of adoption because they didn't need the "stress" of a dog. He is very laid back and easy going for such a young puppy. Ridge got is name since he pretty obviously has some Ridgeback heritage. He has a solid line of backwards growing hair up the middle of his back that makes him look like he has a Mohawk. Ridge's mom was a purebred husky and his dad was a mixed breed neighbors dog. He loves other dogs and wouldn't mind having a playmate or being the only dog. Ridge even gets along with Cat's although he likes to chase them if they run from him. Ridge is housetrained, crate trained, and knows the commands sit and down. More Pics |

NOTES: Hi there my
name is Bosley. I am a sweet small boy with
a great personality. And if I say so myself
I am just too cute!! I love to give hugs and
will wrap my paws around you! I am crate
trained and don't mind being in my crate. I
love to chew on rawhides and my Kong but I
love to un-stuff the stuffies! So I can not
have those. I walk on the leash without
pulling but I tend to zigzag and I am
working on how to stay calm on a walk, but
with all those smells I have to get it all
in. I am a very submissive boy and love the
ladies. I get along with everyone and all
sized dogs too. I am looking for my forever
home and hope to see you soon! More

Everyone! I found a new home in Cibolo, TX, near
San Antonio. My new mom says I am working
out great. I have a cute puppy sister named
Coco.That's us in the photo. I am very, very
happy. Mom says I am settling in just fine. Coco
wants to do those annoying young puppy things
like bark and nip at me all the time. And in my
grown up, cool, Siberian-way, I ignore her. Such
