UPDATE 12/21/05
Spike is having surgery on January 3rd. He has hip dysplasia (spelling?). He is on 75mg of Remadyl twice a day to keep him out of pain.
I have been so upset about it. The x-ray showed the left hip is out of socket and it's just rubbing, causing his pain.
He and Heaven will have to be separated for a couple of weeks until he heals. They won't like that. :) She freaked out when I took him to the vet without her. He was knocked out for a while. When he came to, he talked to the staff all afternoon. He is very vocal.
He is my baby boy. If you keep in touch with his brother's owner you may want to let him know. I thought he twisted his leg playing.

COLEEN- I am a blue merle Australian Shepherd about 1 year old. I was rescued from Harris county with my four one week old puppies.Sadly, all of my puppies died after catching an upper respiratory infection. I am completely recovered now and ready to go to a new home. I am a sweet girl but startle at loud noises and would happier in a quiet home. I will sit in your lap and be loved.

Just a quick update. Mandy is doing beautifully. She and Misty are best buddies and play all the time. It has turned Misty into a youngster again and she was 11 several weeks ago. Mandy is so trust worthy that she has been out of her crate for over 6 weeks now, day and night. She is an absolute love and so smart. We are in school. Took one class and although we finished it - wasn't what I wanted for her. So started another class last Sat and it is going to be great. She has our routine figured out and sometimes seems to know what I am going to do before I do. She is over most of her quirks, except when another dog comes charging up to her and she still snarls and snaps the air. She has gained weight and now that all the meds are totally out of her system has a beautiful soft and shinny coat. She loves to be brushed and we do it 4 or 5 times a week to get all the slobber out of both their coats. Plus it is such a bonding exercise.
Anyway she is a real joy and a wonderful asset to our home and Misty and I both love her dearly.

AKELA- I am a red and white blue eyed female about 1.5 years old. I am very people orientated and I get along with other dogs. I love to be petted and groomed and don't mind being blown dry.
UPDATE 9/28/05: "Keelie's" (Akela) and our 1 year anniversary is coming up and she's doing great! Just wanted to send you some pics so you can see how well she's doing. KODIAK- Hi! My name is Kodiak, and I am an absolute CUDDLE- BUG! I am a bit of a lady's man, although I like males too. I just LOVE being around people. I am also house and crate trained. I would be happiest as the only dog because I want all of the attention and can get jealous of other dogs. I do need some work with jumping and open-mouthing, but I tend to do that mostly when someone comes over and I get excited. I would love a home where I can be on the couch and maybe even sleep in the bed with my people. I also love chewing, so I need chew toys. I love to play fetch (in a confined area of course), and I LOVE to go for walks although I do like to pull. I haven't been around cats or small children, but I won't do well with birds - I find them a little too interesting, so I might be the same way with cats, my mom's not sure.
